Dr. Raquel Escalante
Founder & Clinical Director, PhD
Plain talk, a clear plan and room to do it your way.
Dr. Raquel Escalante founded Tarn to offer therapy that fits how autistic and ADHD adults and teens think and work. She leads the clinical team and sees adult clients.
She works with adults on burnout, masking, routines and the pressure of keeping up. Sessions start with an agenda you agree together, and you can ask for it in writing.
Away from the office she walks along the lake and reads far too many library books.

How I work
I tell you what a session is for and ask what you want from it. If you prefer to keep your camera off, pace the room or answer in writing, that is a normal way to work. I use methods such as ACT and CBT, adapted so they fit how you process, and we review the plan together as it goes.
Beyond the practice
When she is not in session, Raquel is usually outdoors with a dog and a thermos, or in the kitchen testing recipes that need no more than five ingredients.
Areas of focus
Burnout and masking
Working out what drains you, and what to change
Routines that hold
Planning that fits your week, not an ideal one
Work and relationships
Saying what you need, in your own words
